SPex - A Storage Provider Exchange

We plan to build an easy-to-use exchange for storage providers to transfer their ownership, beneficiaries or any other potential swap opportunities to increase liquidity, interaction and interoperability among SPs. Unlike other financial exchanges that dominate with tokens, SPex will focus on meeting the needs of SPs and will be closely linked to the Filecoin ecosystem.

SPex will have several phases. Due to time constraints, during the hackathon period, we may only be able to complete phase 1, which focuses on the ownership exchange for SPs.

The phase 1 ownership exchange will allow SPs to realize 1. the future unlock rewards immediately (no need to wait 180 days), 2. anti-censorship of SPs ownership transfer through the anonymity of the transaction, 3. the monetary value of special IDs/the IDs with historical reputation, 4. better utilisation of SP resources to lighten the network burden that caused by overuse of ID numbers, effectively recycling existing ones. We note that there is serious abuse of ID creation and think that perhaps in the future an FIP may be needed to charge a fee for node creation to better help reduce this burden on the network and also increase the revenue of the ecosystem, at which time SPex would help provide a marketplace to recycle the idle IDs into active ones.

The phase 2, as an exchange, we can also provide some financial solution to the SP by leasing their beneficiary with terms (time frame and quota) to allow them financing (ABS) and shorting, also swapping FIL to other tokens directly.

The Phase 3 SPex would not only be limited to order book mode, but would also introduce a bidding mechanism to make the ID or beneficiary with good reputation or special meaning as NFT to boost the market energy, liquidity and engagement.

In the long run, with the development of the Filecoin ecosystem, SPex could allow the exchange of deal orders and aims to be the marketplace to provide any other potential exchange opportunities on Filecoin.

Our project uses Metamask wallet authentication to login and will support more wallets in the future. Contracts use @zondax/filecoin-solidity base library users to manipulate Miner and verify signatures. Use Filscan API to get Miner power and balance. Front-end development using VUE + ElementUI. The backend is developed using Python + Django.
