Project Description

Most of the web3 documentation is only available in English. However, out of the 8 billion of people in the world, only 1.1 billion speak English. As a result, most of the world is excluded from on-boarding and building the web3 space. Additionally, the technicality of the space combined with the constant progress make it impossible for unfamiliar individuals to the space to translate a document. Therefore, PolyGlot was created to break this barrier by allowing protocols, web3 companies and individuals to have access to reliable and skillful translators.

To join PolyGlot you must get a key through Unlock. You will then have access to translated documents that you can read and earn an NFT powered by Tellor and TableLand to track your performances.

To request a translation, the user needs to select the language of the document and the desired language. The user will then upload the document on the platform which will create an IPFS file. He/she will be able to follow the progress of the request on his/her dashboard.

A translator will then pick up the translation and update the request when it is done. Validators will then be notified through the EPNS channel and review the work. After everything is clear (3 validators approve the translation), the validators and the translator will be able to get paid. If the translation is rejected (3 validators reject the translation), the client will be able to claim back the funds of the request minus a fee.

To become a translator the user will first verify his/her identity through worldCoin, then specify the two languages he speaks. He/she will have then be given 3 translations that validators must review. After a successful translation, the user will be able to add it to his/her profile so validators can approve him/her as a translator (3 votes in favor).

To become a validator the user will need to be a translator with at least 5 requests. The user will be able to apply as a validator and validators will need to approve him/her (3 votes in favor).

Instructions

Step 1: Connect your wallet

Step2: Select the language of your choice

Step3: Get the Unlock NFT on the Goerli network.

Step 4: Select the Polygon Mumbai network

Step5: Check the documentation, powered by IPFS and earn an NFT reward paired to a TableLand Table that evolves each time you check a new document. The NFT changes into a special NFT after properly reading the last document, ensured by Tellor. Users will then be able to see their NFT thanks to the Covalent API.

Different stages: Stage 1: The request has been created a translator will work on it shortly | stage 2: A translator is working on the translation | stage 3: The translator has submitted the work. Validators will now review the translation | stage 4: The translation was accepted by the validators. Validators and the translator who worked on the translation can claim some funds | stage 5: The user gets back his/her funds

How it's Made

We used Polygon for the two contracts, Unlock to ensure users are members, IPFS to allow users to upload files, worldcoin to verify that all the users who apply are human, EPNS to notify validators when translators have submitted their work, Tellor to verify that the user has spent a specific amount of time to read the documentation and Covalent to allow users to see their NFT.
