Project Description

FairDrop addresses significant issues encountered by organizers during airdrop or lottery events. The primary challenges include Verification Challenges, the Cost of Anti-fraud Measures, and the Lack of Fair Screening Mechanisms which collectively lead to Deterred User Engagement. These challenges undermine the legitimacy, fairness, and subsequently the user enthusiasm towards these events.

Our solution, Unique Participant Verification, is three-pronged:

  1. Verifiable Delay Function (VDF): Requiring participants to perform minor mining tasks before entering the lottery as proof of singular participation. The time-intensive VDF ensures that each entry is unique and genuine.
  2. User Persona (via Axiom): Axiom's access to historical on-chain data enables precise user targeting and selection by verifying on-chain personas of participants.
  3. Decentralized Identifier (DID) utilizing Polygon ID & World ID: These identifiers further cement the verification process, ensuring a robust screening mechanism.

How it's Made

The project exemplifies a critical use case in the lottery scenario where the combination of WalletConnect protocol, WorldID or PolygonID for DID verification, VDF for minor pre-lottery mining tasks, and Chainlink VRF for random number generation orchestrates an on-chain lottery process that is not only transparent but also fair and verifiable.

  1. WalletConnect: This protocol is utilized to seamlessly connect participants' wallets with the FairDraw platform, facilitating easy and secure transactions.
  2. Polygon ID & World ID: Employed for DID verification, these technologies enhance the accuracy of participant verification.
  3. Verifiable Delay Function: A cryptographic primitive that requires a significant amount of time to compute, ensuring the uniqueness of each participant's entry.
  4. Axiom: Leverages historical on-chain data to authenticate user personas, which is crucial for precise user targeting and selection.
  5. Chainlink VRF (Verifiable Random Function): It's used for fair and transparent random number generation, which is critical for the lottery process.

These technologies are pieced together through a well-architected framework that ensures each component interacts seamlessly with others. For instance, the integration of Chainlink VRF with smart contracts ensures a fair lottery process, while the utilization of WalletConnect protocol alongside Polygon ID and World ID facilitates a secure and straightforward participant verification and engagement. The project represents a significant step towards creating a fair and transparent environment for airdrop or lottery events, minimizing fraud, and enhancing user trust and engagement.
