What if instead of paying, you can unlock access to quality content simply by sharing it with others, and getting more eyeballs on it?

Eyeballs leverages the groundbreaking Proof-of-Personhood (PoP) technology developed by WorldCoin to create a paywall mechanism that content consumers do not hate. Unlocking a paywall-gated webpage (through our library) costs 1 View token, but you can earn back those View tokens by sharing the page to others and driving in organic traffic.

Through this mechanism, consumers are incentivized to become advocates for good content that they come across, sharing it with their network. PoP provides sybil resistance by ensuring that a content sharer gets their rebate only when they bring a new person- a literal new pair of eyeballs, to the webpage. Furthermore, View balance is automatically topped up to a fixed amount (or keep any amount beyond that) at the beginning of the month, and PoP ensures that this system cannot be gamed.

We integrate with the World ID SDK in our library. When a user chooses to unlock a webpage, we request their verification with QR signing, and then pass that proof on-chain to trigger spending of tokens.

Currently, we have a server set up to automatically execute on-chain contract calls on our user's behalf. In the future, this will be replaced with paymaster service in exchange for a cut of the user's View tokens.

To enforce single account per person, View token balance are currently tracked as a mapping between nullifierHash and integer, however we plan to introduce withdraw/deposit functions to allow our users to freely trade View for other tokens on open market in the future.
